National Convention Delegates

Purpose

The Libertarian National Committee, Inc. meets in convention biennially to consider changes to the Party platform, bylaws and to elect leadership for the next two years.

The 2008 Convention will also select the Libertarian Presidential nominee.


Date & Location

The 2008 LNC Convention is scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend, May 26 - 26th, 2008 at Adam's Mark Hotel in downtown Denver, Colorado.

Registration

Registration for the National Convention is the sole responsibility of the delegates and not conducted at all through the LPCA Office

You can register:

  • Online Registration
  • By calling the National office at 1-800-ELECT-US from 10 AM - 5:30 PM EDT, Monday - Friday.

  • Nearby Accomodations

    The Adams' Mark Hotel (soon to be Sheraton) is the host hotel for the Convention.



    To Be Qualified As a National Delegate

    Your membership in the state Central Committee must be in good standing.

    Membership dues may be renewed online or by calling the State office. Refer to the Membership page for more information.

    The State delegate list must be ready by April 21, 2008 for submission to the National Secretary. All outstanding challenges to State Central Committee Membership must be resolved at that time.

    If you are unable to meet this deadline, you may still be considered for alternate status at the Convention in Denver but must still be a state central committee member at least thirty days prior to the national convention and be chosen by two-thirds of the seated delegates and alternates in Denver.     If you are unable to attend the Convention and are listed as a Delegate, please inform the LPCA Secretary, Beau Cain as soon as possible to free up your slot.
